The R28, Renault's offering this season, was put to the test on the same day, with the weather clearing up enough for former world champion to strut his stuff. There was a mad scramble as Alonso and the R28 came out of the garage, the R28 fitted with a rather odd front wing with a pronounced spoon-shaped lower profile below its nose.Hulkenberg completed only one installation lap in the Toyota-powered car, in the horrible weather conditions with the test called off midway.Improved conditions later in the day meant that Team Williams were able to resume tests with their new vehicle, but only after Fernando Alonso had emerged with his R28. his R28 will get its official launch at a special ceremony in Paris, next Thursday, after they complete the tests on it on Thursday. Renault and Williams will be joined by the other teams at Valencia, with testing continuing until Thursday.
